PROFESSIONAL DRILL AND COUNTERSINK DRILLS BITS

We offer the a wide range of Mexco and Dart Drill Bits and for drill wood, steel, tile and concrete. Our drills are available with Straight Shank, SDS Shank and SDS Plus to meet all your requirements whether you're a trade professional or keen Hobbyist.

  1. HIGH SPEED STEEL ( HSS ) DRILL BITS

HIGH SPEED STEEL ( HSS ) DRILL BITS

High Speed Steel are suitable for drilling most types of material, HSS stands up to the high temperatures. Twist bits are probably the most common drilling tools used by the handyman with either a hand or electric drill. The front edges cut the material and the spirals along the length remove the debris from the hole and tend to keep the bit straight.

  2. SDS DRILL BITS

    SDS DRILL BITS

High quality SDS Plus hammer masonry drills manufactured in Germany for the professional tradesman. The Patented 45° rebar chamfers ensuring low vibration and optimum drilling, whilst the Patented core reinforced flute geometer resists breakage and increases drilling speed. Certified by the Prüfgemeinschaft Mauerbohrer (PGM)

  3. HIGH SPEED STEEL ( HSS ) STEP AND SPIRAL FLUTE DRILLS

HIGH SPEED STEEL ( HSS ) STEP AND SPIRAL FLUTE DRILLS

Step drills are commonly used on sheet metal and in general construction as onedrill bit can drill the entire range of holes. They are ideal for use in electrical work where thin steel, aluminum or plastic boxes and chassis are encountered. The finished hole can often be made quite smooth and burr-free, especially in plastic.

  4. COUNTER SINK DRILLS

    COUNTER SINK DRILLS

Countersink cutter is used to provide a heavy chamfer in the entrance to a drilled hole. This may be required to allow the correct seating for a countersunk-head screw or to provide the lead in for a second machining operation such as tapping. Screws that follow the ISO standard very often have a 90° angle. Throughout the aerospace industry, countersunk fasteners typically have an angle of 100°.

  5. FORSTNER DRILL BITS

    FORSTNER DRILL BITS

Forstner bits bore precise flat-bottomed holes in wood regardless of wood grain direction. Because of the flat bottom to the hole, they are useful for drilling through veneer already glued to add an inlay. They require great force to push them into the material, so are normally used in drill presses or lathes rather than in portable drills. Unlike most other types of drill bits, they are not practical to use as hand tools. The bit includes a center point which guides it throughout the cut whilst the cylindrical cutter around the perimeter shears the wood fibers at the edge of the bore, and also helps guide the bit into the material more precisely.

  6. AUGER WOOD DRILL BITS

    AUGER WOOD DRILL BITS

The auger adds a long deep spiral flute for effective chip removal. Two styles of auger bit are commonly used in hand braces and has a self-feeding screw tip. Auger bit can have ever 2 or 4 flutes and extending several inches up the shank of the bit, for waste removal.

  7. FLAT WOOD DRILL BITS

    FLAT WOOD DRILL BITS

Are designed for use in power drills only, the centre point locates the bit and the flat steel on either side cuts away the timber. These bits are used to drill fairly large holes and they give a flat bottomed hole (with a central point) so are ideal where the head of a screw/bolt needs to be recessed into the timber. Flat wood bits are not suitable for enlarging an existing holes.

  8. MASONRY DRILL BITS

    MASONRY DRILL BITS

As the name suggests, these are designed for drilling into brick, block, stone, quarry tiles or concrete. The cutting tip is made from tungsten carbide bonded to a spiralled steel shaft. Masonry drills are designed to be used in a power drill. Masonry bits can be used with a hammer action power drill. Always use a slow rotational speed for drilling into harder materials to avoid overheating the tip, and frequently withdraw the bit to remove dust.

  9. TILE DRILL BITS

    TILE DRILL BITS

Dart Quality Tungsten Carbide tipped carbon steel drill bits ideal for drilling glass, ceramic tiles and mirrors

  10. DRILL BIT SETS

    DRILL BIT SETS

These are suitable for drilling most types of material, when drilling metal the HSS stands up to the high temperatures. Twist bits are probably the most common drilling tools used by the handyman with either a hand or electric drill. The front edges cut the material and the spirals along the length remove the debris from the hole and tend to keep the bit straight.
