When selecting thickness for solids, use material diameter or thickness. When selecting thickness for structural materials, use wall thickness.

For non-ferrous and carbon steel:

• 8/11 –  12 mm (1/2″) and thicker
• 12/16 – 9 mm (3/8″ ) – 12.7 mm (1/2″)
• 14/18 – 6 mm ( 1/4″) – 9.5 mm (3/8″)
• 18W –  3 mm (3/16″) and thinner

For stainless and hard to cut:

• 8/11 – 6 mm (1/4″) and thicker
• 12/16 – 6 mm (1/4″) and thinner
